Overview
The Chevrolet Silverado EV LT is a groundbreaking entry into the electric pickup arena, blending classic truck utility with cutting-edge EV technology. This Max Range version is the sweet spot, offering staggering range and potent performance without the top-tier price of the RST First Edition. Built on GM's revolutionary Ultium platform, it’s a behemoth designed to dominate both work sites and open roads. While official European pricing is yet to be announced, expect it to land as a premium, high-capability option if it crosses the Atlantic, challenging everything we thought we knew about electric trucks.
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, Chevrolet is broadening the Silverado EV lineup, and the LT trim is a key part of that expansion. Moving beyond the initial Work Truck and halo RST models, the LT makes the truck’s impressive features accessible to more buyers. This model year solidifies the Silverado EV's market presence by offering a wider variety of configurations. It brings the innovative features seen on early models, like the brilliant Multi-Flex Midgate, to a more mainstream but still incredibly well-equipped package, signalling that the electric truck revolution is now in full swing.
Design & Exterior
This is not your grandad’s pickup truck. The Silverado EV boasts a futuristic, aerodynamic design that cleverly reduces drag while maintaining a muscular stance. The LT trim looks sharp and purposeful, with a sleek front end and distinctive lighting signatures. It’s an absolute giant, measuring an imposing 5920 mm in length, 2165 mm in width, and 1999 mm in height, giving it massive road presence. Clever features like the versatile Multi-Flex Tailgate and the game-changing Midgate—which opens the cabin to the bed—make this one of the most practical and head-turning designs out there.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Step inside, and you're greeted by a modern, tech-forward cabin that feels more like a command centre than a truck. The 5-seat interior is incredibly spacious, offering superb comfort for all passengers. The dashboard is dominated by a large digital driver display and a massive central infotainment screen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For hauling gear, it’s unmatched: the rear bed offers a vast 1634 litres of space, complemented by a seriously useful 303-litre 'eTrunk' (frunk) under the bonnet for secure, weatherproof storage.
Performance & Driving Experience
Don’t let its size fool you; this truck is shockingly quick. The dual PMSM motors provide aggressive all-wheel drive, unleashing a colossal 567 kW of power and 1037 Nm of torque. That's enough to blast this behemoth from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 182 km/h. Thanks to its Ultium underpinnings and features like four-wheel steering, it’s surprisingly nimble in town and offers a composed, quiet ride on the motorway. One-pedal driving via regenerative braking makes cruising a breeze.
Range, Battery & Charging
This is where the Silverado EV LT truly shines. It packs a monumental 205 kWh usable battery, delivering a Green Cars Compare estimated real-world range of an incredible 731 km on a single charge. Efficiency is a respectable 3.57 km/kWh for its size. Its 800V architecture enables blistering 350 kW DC fast charging, adding huge range in minutes. At home, the standard 19.2 kW AC on-board charger is class-leading. European models would feature a CCS Type 2 port and powerful Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality to power tools or even your home.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
While it awaits an official Euro NCAP safety rating, the Silverado EV is packed with advanced safety tech. Standard features on the LT trim include a comprehensive suite of active systems like Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Alert. The real party piece is the availability of Super Cruise, GM's acclaimed hands-free driver-assistance system for compatible motorways. This allows the truck to manage steering, acceleration, and braking, making long-distance journeys significantly more relaxing and secure for the driver.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Buyers can expect Chevrolet’s robust EV warranty package. This typically includes a comprehensive vehicle warranty for 3 years or 100,000 km, but the main event is the battery and electric drivetrain coverage. These critical components are usually protected for 8 years or 160,000 km, with a guarantee against significant degradation (often 70% of original capacity). With far fewer moving parts than a combustion engine truck, routine maintenance is minimal, mainly consisting of checks on brakes, tyres, and cabin filters, leading to lower running costs over its lifetime.
