Overview
Ford unleashes the Mustang Mach-E Rally, an electrifying SUV that’s traded its racing slicks for some serious mud-plugging credentials! This special edition aims to dominate more than just tarmac, blending iconic Mustang spirit with off-road prowess. It’s a unique proposition in the electric SUV market, designed for adventure seekers. With its distinctive styling and enhanced capability, the Rally stands out from its Mach-E siblings. In Europe, expect this dirt-loving pony to kick off around €80,300 new, ready to make a bold statement wherever it roams.
What's New for 2025?
The big news is the Rally trim itself, storming into the 2025 model year lineup as a fresh, factory-built, adventure-focused variant. Drawing inspiration from rallycross, it boasts a purpose-built powertrain tune specifically for loose surfaces, a unique RallySport drive mode, and a suspension lift for extra clearance. Ford has also bolted on protective underbody shielding, distinctive white alloy wheels wrapped in knobbier tyres, and eye-catching exterior styling elements. This isn't just a sticker pack; it's a Mach-E reimagined for when the pavement ends and the fun begins!
Design & Exterior
The Mach-E Rally screams attitude! Up front, it sports a unique grille with integrated rally-inspired fog lamps and a purposeful splitter. Those gloss white 19-inch alloy wheels are pure rally cool, shod with chunkier Michelin CrossClimate2 tyres. A dramatic rear spoiler, inspired by the Focus RS, and distinctive stripes complete the look. It measures 4749 mm in length, 1881 mm in width, and stands 1649 mm tall, with a 20mm suspension lift over the GT. Underneath, there's shielding for the front and rear motors, ensuring it’s ready for some rough and tumble.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the Rally gets performance seats with "Mach-E Rally" debossed, plus distinctive white accents on the dash and doors, adding a sporty touch to the familiar, spacious 5-seat cabin. Ford’s massive 15.5-inch SYNC 4A touchscreen dominates the dash, offering seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a crisp digital driver display. For your gear, there's a practical 402-litre boot, expanding to a generous 1420 litres with the rear seats folded flat. Don't forget the handy 100-litre frunk under the bonnet for extra bits and bobs!
Performance & Driving Experience
This thing shifts! The Mach-E Rally rockets from 0-100 km/h in a blistering 3.6 seconds, thanks to its potent dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. These permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) at the front and rear churn out a combined 358 kW and a mighty 950 Nm of torque. Ford’s first-ever RallySport drive mode is designed for sideways action on loose surfaces, working with specially tuned MagneRide shocks and a raised suspension for a surprisingly compliant yet controlled ride, even when you're giving it the beans. Top speed is a respectable 200 km/h.
Range, Battery & Charging
Powering the adventure is a 91 kWh usable battery pack, delivering a Green Cars Compare calculated real-world range of 419 km, with an efficiency of 4.6 km/kWh. For top-ups, the standard 11 kW on-board AC charger via the CCS Type 2 port will replenish the battery overnight in around 9-10 hours. When you need juice quickly, the Rally supports DC fast charging at up to 150 kW, meaning a 10-80% charge can be zapped in around 35-40 minutes, getting you back on the road, or trail, with minimal fuss.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
The Ford Mustang Mach-E platform boasts an excellent 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, and the Rally trim benefits from this robust foundation. It comes loaded with Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assistance technologies as standard. This typically includes Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centring, Pre-Collision Assist with Auto Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, and a 360-degree camera, making both daily commutes and adventurous drives safer and less stressful.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
In Europe, Ford typically offers a 2-year, unlimited kilometre basic vehicle warranty, with options to extend. Crucially for an EV, the high-voltage battery and electric drivetrain components are covered for 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, against manufacturing defects and degradation below 70% of original capacity. Maintenance on EVs is generally lower than petrol cars, focusing on tyres, brakes, and coolant. Ford's European dealer network is equipped for EV servicing, ensuring peace of mind for Rally adventurers.
