Overview
Ford has unleashed a proper wild child with the Mustang Mach-E Rally, its first-ever rally-inspired electric vehicle. This isn't just a styling exercise; it’s a purpose-built machine designed to tear up tarmac and kick up dirt. Combining the instant torque of a performance EV with genuine off-road credentials, it carves a unique niche in the electric crossover market. With its aggressive looks and potent dual-motor setup, the Rally is a statement piece for drivers who demand excitement. In Europe, expect pricing to start around €81,000 for this specialized model.
What's New for 2025?
The Rally trim is the big news, crashing into the Mach-E lineup with a singular focus on fun. It’s a completely new variant, boasting a uniquely tuned powertrain featuring a powerful new rear motor. The real game-changer is the first-ever RallySport drive mode, engineered to allow for bigger slides and more control on loose surfaces. To handle the rough stuff, it gets a 20mm suspension lift, specially tuned springs, and MagneRide shocks, setting it worlds apart from its more road-focused siblings. It’s a completely new flavour of Mustang.
Design & Exterior
You won't mistake the Rally for a standard Mach-E. It screams attitude with its dramatic rear spoiler, tough body cladding, and distinctive front end featuring a unique splitter and integrated rally-style fog lamps. The look is completed by brilliant white 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in performance tyres and bold racing stripes. At 4749 mm long, 1881 mm wide, and 1649 mm tall, it has a muscular, raised stance, further enhanced by protective underbody shielding. This thing is a certified head-turner, built to look the part.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the Rally gets exclusive touches to match its exterior persona. You’re hugged by fantastic Ford Performance seats, while gloss white accents adorn the dashboard and steering wheel, echoing the rally wheels. The cabin is dominated by a massive 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a crisp 10.2-inch driver display. Practicality isn't forgotten, with a 402-litre boot that expands to 1420 litres with the seats folded, plus a super-handy 100-litre frunk for extra storage and charging cables.
Performance & Driving Experience
Get ready for takeoff. The Rally’s dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, featuring two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors, pumps out a colossal 358 kW and 950 Nm of torque. That translates to a blistering 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.6 seconds! But it's more than a drag-strip hero; the rally-tuned MagneRide suspension and custom drive modes provide incredible agility and confidence, whether you're carving up a mountain pass or sliding through a gravel corner. It’s an electrifying and engaging drive that absolutely lives up to the Mustang name.
Range, Battery & Charging
The Rally is powered by a 91 kWh usable battery pack. Green Cars Compare calculates a real-world range of approximately 419 km, with an impressive efficiency of 4.6 km/kWh. For home charging, the standard 11 kW on-board AC charger can top up the battery overnight. When you’re on the move, its 400V architecture and CCS Type 2 port support DC fast charging at speeds up to 150 kW, allowing you to zap the battery from 10% to 80% in around 36 minutes, getting you back on the road quickly.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is paramount, and the Mach-E platform delivers with a top-tier 5-star Euro NCAP rating. The Rally comes loaded with Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 suite as standard. This includes essentials like Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centring, Blind Spot Information System, and Pre-Collision Assist with automatic emergency braking. This comprehensive package provides an extra layer of confidence, whether you're commuting on the motorway or enjoying a spirited drive on a back road, making the Rally both thrilling and secure.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Ford of Europe typically provides a 2-year, unlimited-kilometre basic vehicle warranty. More importantly for an EV, the high-voltage battery and powertrain components are covered for a robust 8 years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, with a guarantee against significant degradation (usually 70% of original capacity). As an all-electric vehicle, maintenance is simpler and often cheaper than its petrol-powered counterparts, with fewer moving parts to service, meaning more time to enjoy the drive and less time in the workshop.
