Overview
The Genesis Electrified GV70 AWD is a seriously compelling premium electric SUV that squares up against European rivals. It blends head-turning style with a knockout interior and properly potent performance. Key highlights for this AWD model include its ultra-fast 800V charging architecture and a powerful dual-motor setup. It’s a tech-laden, luxurious package that offers incredible value. In Europe, this impressive machine starts new from approximately €67,300, with quality used examples available around the €61,900 mark, making it a very tempting proposition in the premium EV space.
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, the Electrified GV70 gets a stunning tech upgrade, dominated by a massive new 27-inch OLED screen that seamlessly integrates the driver’s display and central infotainment. It’s a proper showstopper that elevates the entire cabin experience. The driver also gets a stylish new two-tone steering wheel. While the gorgeous exterior design remains largely unchanged, Genesis has introduced fresh alloy wheel designs and subtle refinements to the bumper trim, keeping this electric SUV looking sharp and modern against its ever-evolving competition.
Design & Exterior
The Electrified GV70 is a masterclass in elegant SUV design. It sports the brand's signature "Athletic Elegance" philosophy, highlighted by the iconic two-line LED headlights and taillights that give it an unmistakable road presence. The EV version features a sleek, inverted G-Matrix "Crest" grille that cleverly hides the CCS Type 2 charging port. This maintains the clean, powerful aesthetic without unsightly flaps. Its poised stance is defined by its dimensions: 4715 mm in length, 1910 mm in width, and 1630 mm in height, creating a perfectly proportioned premium look.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Step inside, and the GV70's cabin wows with its lavish materials and flawless build quality. For 2025, the new 27-inch OLED display is the undisputed star, offering crystal-clear graphics for both instruments and infotainment, with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Passenger space is generous for five adults. Practicality is excellent, with 503 litres of boot space, which expands to a cavernous 1678 litres when you fold the rear seats flat. Plus, you get a handy 25-litre frunk under the bonnet, perfect for stashing charging cables.
Performance & Driving Experience
This is one seriously quick SUV. The dual PMSM motors deliver a combined 360 kW and a mighty 700 Nm of torque to all four wheels. Engage the "Boost Mode" button on the steering wheel, and you’ll rocket from 0-100 km/h in a blistering 4.2 seconds. The standard AWD system ensures superb traction in all conditions. On the move, it’s both a serene, comfortable cruiser and surprisingly agile through the corners. The i-Pedal function allows for true one-pedal driving, making city commutes a breeze and maximising regeneration.
Range, Battery & Charging
The Electrified GV70 is equipped with a 74 kWh usable battery pack. According to Green Cars Compare's calculations, this delivers a practical real-world range of 374 km, with an impressive efficiency of 5.05 km/kWh. Its standout feature is the 800V architecture, enabling a maximum DC charging speed of a staggering 350 kW, capable of zapping the battery from 10-80% in about 18 minutes at a compatible charger. For home charging, the standard 11 kW on-board AC charger gets the job done overnight. It also features a useful 3.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is a top priority, proven by the Electrified GV70’s top-tier 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Genesis doesn't skimp on equipment, loading the car with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems as standard. This includes Highway Driving Assist II, which combines adaptive cruise control with active lane-keeping and lane-change assistance. You also get a Blind-Spot View Monitor that shows a camera feed in the driver's display, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and a crystal-clear surround-view camera system, ensuring total confidence on the road.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Genesis offers an exceptional ownership package in Europe with its "Five-Year Care Plan." This includes a 5-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, which is a standout in the premium segment. The plan also bundles in 5 years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, 5 years of roadside assistance, and over-the-air software updates. Critically for an EV, the high-voltage battery is covered for 8 years or 160,000 km. This comprehensive coverage provides fantastic peace of mind and underscores the brand's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
