Overview
The 2023 Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV RS is the Czech brand's sleek, all-electric SUV-coupe with a sporty punch. As the range-topper, it blends striking looks with potent all-wheel-drive performance and a generous kit list. It’s a head-turner that offers practicality alongside its athletic appeal, aiming to make electric driving exciting. While new production ceased in 2023, you can snag a used one for around €39,500. It’s a cracking choice for those wanting style and substance in their EV.
What's New for 2023?
For its 2023 model year, which was also its final year of production, the Enyaq Coupe iV RS largely carried over the impressive spec from its 2022 launch. Skoda focused on software enhancements across the Enyaq range, improving battery management and infotainment responsiveness. This meant the RS benefitted from a more polished user experience and potentially slight real-world efficiency gains. No major hardware changes were introduced for this specific trim before its discontinuation, keeping its potent performance and stylish package consistent.
Design & Exterior
The Enyaq Coupe iV RS is a proper looker, with its sloping roofline giving it a much sportier vibe than the standard Enyaq SUV. Up front, the illuminated 'Crystal Face' grille often came standard on the RS, making a bold statement, especially at night. Sporty bumpers, black exterior accents, and large alloy wheels (typically 20-inch or optional 21-inch) scream performance. It measures 4653 mm long, 1879 mm wide (excluding mirrors), and a sleek 1607 mm tall, giving it a planted, aggressive stance on the road.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the iV RS gets a sporty makeover with unique 'RS Lounge' design selection featuring sports seats with integrated headrests, often finished in suede-like materials and contrast stitching. It seats five. A large 13-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, usually with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dominates the dash, complemented by a digital driver’s display. Passenger space is good, though the sloping roofline slightly impacts rear headroom. Boot space is 575 litres, expanding to a massive 1700 litres with seats down. Sadly, no frunk here.
Performance & Driving Experience
This thing can shift! The Enyaq Coupe iV RS packs dual motors – an IM (Induction Motor) at the front and a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) at the rear – delivering a punchy 220 kW and 460 Nm of torque through its all-wheel-drive system. That means 0-100 km/h is dispatched in a brisk 6.5 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h. The RS typically features a lowered sports chassis, making it feel more agile than other Enyaqs, while still offering decent comfort and multiple regenerative braking modes.
Range, Battery & Charging
The iV RS is powered by a 77 kWh (usable) battery pack, delivering a Green Cars Compare estimated real-world range of around 441 km. Its efficiency is rated at a decent 5.73 km/kWh. For charging, it supports up to 11 kW AC charging via its CCS Type 2 port, meaning a full top-up overnight takes around 7-8 hours. When you’re out and about, it can gulp down DC juice at up to 175 kW, potentially taking it from 10-80% in about 30-35 minutes under ideal conditions.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Skoda doesn't skimp on safety, and the Enyaq Coupe iV RS proudly wears a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. It comes packed with a good suite of driver-assistance systems. Standard kit often includes Front Assist with emergency braking, Lane Assist, and cruise control. Features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Travel Assist (combining adaptive cruise and lane guidance), Blind Spot Detect, and a 360-degree camera system were typically available, either standard on the RS or as part of optional packages, enhancing both safety and convenience.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Skoda typically offers a comprehensive warranty package. For the Enyaq Coupe iV RS, expect a standard vehicle warranty of 2 years with unlimited mileage in many European markets, often extendable. The crucial high-voltage battery usually gets an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty, guaranteeing it retains a significant portion of its original capacity (e.g., 70%). Powertrain components are covered under the main vehicle warranty. Scheduled maintenance for EVs is generally less frequent and cheaper than combustion-engine cars, focusing on checks rather than regular fluid changes.
