Overview
The 2025 Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD marks the triumphant return of the fan-favourite trim, now wrapped in the sleek, updated 'Highland' package. It hits the absolute sweet spot in the electric saloon market, blending a colossal range with the engaging dynamics of rear-wheel drive. Positioned as the ultimate efficiency champion, it offers a compelling alternative to the pricier AWD version without skimping on tech or performance. With a competitive starting price of €44,990 in Europe, it’s designed to be the go-to choice for savvy EV buyers.
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, the Model 3 is all about the 'Highland' refresh, which transforms the driving experience. The cabin is now library-quiet thanks to acoustic glass all around, and the ride comfort is massively improved with a completely revised suspension. Inside, you get slick new ambient lighting and a rear screen for passengers. The most controversial change? No more stalks! Indicators are now buttons on the steering wheel, and gear selection is done via the main touchscreen. The reintroduction of this single-motor Long Range model itself is the biggest news for the lineup.
Design & Exterior
This EV has had a serious glow-up. The front end is much sharper and cleaner, with aggressive, slim new matrix headlights that give it a premium, focused look. The rear has been tidied up, swapping the badge for clean 'T E S L A' lettering between the new C-shaped tail lights. These aerodynamic tweaks aren't just for show; they help it slice through the air more efficiently. It’s a well-proportioned saloon measuring 4724 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, and a low-slung 1431 mm in height.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
The cabin is a masterclass in minimalism, now with higher-quality materials and a wraparound design that feels properly upmarket. A massive 15.4-inch central screen runs the entire show, from your speed to the climate controls. It's incredibly responsive, though you still won't find Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Passengers get plenty of room, plus a new 8-inch rear screen for their own climate and entertainment. Luggage space is immense, with a 594-litre boot, a handy 88-litre frunk up front, and a total of 977 litres with the seats down.
Performance & Driving Experience
Don't let the single motor fool you; this thing is quick. It zips from 0-100 km/h in a brisk 5.2 seconds, powered by a rear-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivering 250 kW and a hefty 450 Nm of instant torque. The rear-wheel-drive setup makes it feel agile and fun on a twisty road. Thanks to the 'Highland' updates, the ride is now much more supple and quiet, making it a brilliant and refined daily driver. Strong, adjustable regenerative braking allows for easy one-pedal driving in traffic.
Range, Battery & Charging
This is where the Long Range RWD truly shines. It’s fitted with a 75 kWh usable battery pack, delivering a fantastic real-world range estimated by Green Cars Compare at 576 km. Its incredible efficiency of 7.68 km/kWh makes it one of the most cost-effective EVs to run. When it’s time to plug in, it can handle a blistering 250 kW at a DC Supercharger, adding significant range in under 30 minutes. For home charging, the standard 11 kW on-board charger is perfect. The European model uses a standard CCS Type 2 port.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is a top priority, backed by a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Every Model 3 comes standard with Tesla's Autopilot, which includes excellent adaptive cruise control and Autosteer lane-keeping assist to reduce fatigue on long journeys. It’s also packed with active safety features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring cameras. For those wanting more, Enhanced Autopilot and the 'Full Self-Driving Capability' package can be added as over-the-air software upgrades, unlocking features like automatic lane changes and Navigate on Autopilot.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Tesla’s warranty package in Europe provides solid peace of mind. The basic vehicle is covered for 4 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first. More importantly, the battery and drive unit are covered for an extensive 8 years or 192,000 km, with a guarantee of at least 70% battery capacity retention. There are no mandatory annual services, which helps keep running costs incredibly low. Maintenance is done on an as-needed basis, with the car notifying you when it’s time for a check-up, like for brake fluid or cabin filters.
