Key findings from the video review of the electric car:
The BMW i4 is the closest thing to an electric BMW 3 series and is BMW's best selling EV accounting for over 50% of total 4 series sales. The 2025 i4 has refreshed styling on the front and rear and the latest iDrive 8.5 infotainment software. The i4 xDrive40 features nearly 400 hp and up to 268 miles of range.
This vehicle is designed to stand out with unique styling while promising an ultimate driving experience. It is built on a shared architecture with the internal combustion four-series, so it has no additional front storage.
The M Sport package includes 19-inch wheels, M Sport brakes, and black-painted mirrors. It has adaptive LED headlights but big beaver teeth twin kidney grille may put some off.
Power output in sport mode is 396 hp with 443 lb-ft of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 in about 4.36 seconds with a top speed of 124 mph. It utilizes dual electric motors, is all-wheel-drive, and draws power from an 83.4 kWh battery pack. The weight is just over 5,000 lbs which is approximately 1,000 lbs heavier than the gas variant.
There is a BMW I badge to signify that the vehicle is an EV. The design of the back is primarily the same, apart from the new LED light signature. It also has rear climate control and two USB ports. The seats do not recline. It contains 16.6 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats up that extends to 46.5 when the rear seats are folded down.
The steering is light and responsive. The ride quality, especially in the sport individual driving mode with the dampers in comfort, is extremely nice and luxurious. With wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the dash has two displays of 12.3 inches and 14.9 inches respectively, and I Drive 8.5 software. This does all put it a step above other electric sports sedans.
A fully charged car, with the climate control off, estimates the range to be 250 miles, when driving it on the highway that number drops to 240ish miles. In the city, this can be pushed over 250. The rear seats don’t offer much legroom.
Its best selling point is the fact that it’s a BMW and it boasts impeccable build quality and excellent driving manners. The i4 offers performance as good as gas-powered BMW counterparts but is pricier than most rivals.
