Detailed Descriptions
The Lightyear 0 (2022-2023) is an all-electric all-wheel drive sedan. It came out in 2022. Lightyear stopped making the Gen 1 in 2023.
The Lightyear 0 (2022-2023) has a 60 kWh battery pack, allowing it to travel up to 531 km on a single charge. The car has an average efficiency of 11.3 kWh per 100 km (or 8.85 km per kWh) — ranked №63 out of 832 electric vehicles.
Due to financial difficulties, Lightyear ceased production of the 0 model and filed for bankruptcy of its manufacturing subsidiary, Atlas Technologies, in January 2023.
Frequently Asked Questions
How powerful is it? How fast does it accelerate? The Lightyear 0 (2022-2023) achieves a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 10 seconds (placing it at №81 out of 118 ranked positions, among 832 electric vehicles, with some cars sharing positions) and attains a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
Its powertrain provides a power output of up to 130 kW (174 hp) and a torque of 1720 Nm.
How far can it go on single charge? What is the real-world range? Lightyear 0 (2022-2023) achieves a real-world range of 531 km, placing it at №44 among 334 ranked positions. However, this range is subject to several influences:
- Speed: Traveling at higher speeds reduces battery life.
- Temperature: Extreme cold or hot weather can affect range.
- Terrain: Hilly or mountainous landscapes decrease range.
- Driving habits: Aggressive driving with frequent acceleration and braking consumes more energy.
- Feature usage: Climate control and media systems also influence range.
It's important to acknowledge that these are estimations, and your actual driving range may differ. Consider these factors when planning your trip and be ready for potential charging stops.

What charging options are available? How long does it take to charge it? The Lightyear 0 (2022-2023) in Europe comes with a CCS Type 2 charging port. It can be charged at home using a standard domestic socket or at any public AC charging station with the compatible cable. It's important to note that the car's on-board charger (inverter) limits the maximum AC charging rate to 22 kW, resulting in approximately 175 km of range added per hour of charging.
For significantly faster charging, public DC fast-charging stations are available. Although the car can achieve a maximum DC charging rate of 75 kW, factors such as battery temperature and charge level may affect the actual charging speed.
