What's New for 2025?

For 2025, the ID.4 GTX benefits hugely from the significant powertrain and tech overhaul introduced in late 2023. This means the more potent 250 kW dual-motor setup with the efficient APP550 rear motor is now bedded in, delivering that thrilling 5.4-second sprint to 100 km/h. Inside, the much-improved 12.9-inch infotainment system with faster software and illuminated touch sliders for climate control is standard. These enhancements, alongside potentially tweaked battery pre-conditioning for faster DC charging, keep the GTX feeling fresh and competitive against newer rivals in the electric arena.

Design & Exterior

The ID.4 GTX flexes its sporty credentials with a distinct exterior. You get unique bumpers, glossy black accents, and signature GTX badging. Standard IQ.Light LED matrix headlights not only look sharp but also provide brilliant illumination. Chunky alloy wheels, often 20-inch as standard with optional 21-inchers, fill the arches nicely. Dimensionally, it measures 4582 mm in length, 1852 mm in width (excluding mirrors), and 1632 mm in height, giving it a purposeful stance on the road. The ID.4 GTX delivers proper shove thanks to its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, pumping out a combined 250 kW and a hefty 679 Nm of torque from its induction motor at the front and permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear. This translates to a rapid 0-100 km/h dash in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h. It feels noticeably quicker and more engaging than standard ID.4s, with surefooted handling. The ride remains comfortable, and selectable regenerative braking modes help recuperate energy effectively.

Range, Battery & Charging

Powering the ID.4 GTX is a 77 kWh (usable) battery pack, offering a Green Cars Compare estimated real-world range of around 438 kilometres. Energy consumption is rated at a decent 5.69 km/kWh. For charging, it supports up to 11 kW AC via its CCS Type 2 port, meaning a full top-up takes roughly 7-8 hours. On the DC fast charging front, it can gulp electrons at up to 175 kW from its 400V architecture, taking it from 10-80% in about 28-30 minutes. Some models may also support Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

Safety & Driver-Assistance Features

The ID.4 platform boasts an excellent 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, and the GTX trim comes packed with safety tech. Standard features typically include Front Assist with emergency braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection, Lane Assist, and adaptive cruise control.
